1. Key Changes to Applications for the 2027 Academic Year

  • The application schedule, previously divided into “Period I” and “Period II,” has been consolidated into a single schedule.
  • Applicants are screened in two stages. The first screening is based on application documents, and an online interview is required for all applicants who pass the first screening.
  • Applicants must submit one of the following standardized test results for the document screening:

b. Have taken ACT Official score report must be sent directly to Hosei University by the last day of the application period.

c. Have been enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and obtained, or expect to obtain, the diploma Transcript showing results of six subjects at the last exam and the IB Diploma.
*Applicants who are expected to obtain the IB need to submit the IB Predicted Grades Report Form.
d. Have sat, or expect to obtain, GCE Advanced Levels (including International A Levels) as follows: (a) GCE Advanced Level three subjects, or (b) GCE Advanced Level two subjects and GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level two subjects (total of four subjects) Official Grade Certificate(s) of the GCE
*Applicants who are expected to obtain results need to submit a formal document clearly stating that the applicant is expected to meet the eligibility requirements (e.g., Predicted Grades).

2. Key Dates in Application Process

  • Application Period: Monday, February 22, 2027 to Friday, March 5, 2027
  • Announcement of First Screening Results: Friday, April 23, 2027
  • Announcement of Interview Details: Friday, May 7, 2027
  • Zoom Connection Test: Wednesday, May 12, 2027 or Thursday, May 13, 2027
  • Online Interview Date: Sunday, May 16, 2027
  • Announcement of Successful Applicants: Tuesday, May 25, 2027
  • Enrollment Procedure Period: Tuesday, May 25, 2027 to Tuesday, June 15, 2027
  • Enrollment: Thursday, September 16, 2027

3. Enrollment Capacity and Application Categories

20 students will be accepted for the Global Business Program in the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Business Administration.

Applicants must select own application category at the time of application. The application categories and their respective capacities are as follows:

・Visa-based 10 students For applicants who intend to study at the university under the “College Student” (留学) visa status (including those who expect to obtain it by the time of enrollment)
・General 10 students For applicants who hold Japanese nationality, permanent resident status in Japan (including Special Permanent Resident status), or any status of residence other than “Student” under which they are expected to study at the University.

4. Screening method

Applicants are screened in two stages. The first screening is based on application documents (reasons for applying to Hosei University, high school transcripts, results of English proficiency tests, standardized test result (SAT/ACT/IB/GCE A Levels), and other relevant documents). An online interview is also required for all applicants who pass the first screening.
