As part of the Global Business course in the Global Business Program (GBP), Hosei University welcomed two distinguished guest speakers in June, providing students with valuable opportunities to learn from leaders who have shaped the global strategies of some of Japan’s most influential companies.

On June 18, Mr. Yoichi Wada, former CEO of Square Enix, delivered a lecture on the global expansion of Japanese companies. Drawing on his extensive executive experience, including leading the historic merger of Square and Enix, Mr. Wada shared practical insights into the opportunities and challenges Japanese companies face when expanding overseas. He discussed global growth strategies, cross-cultural management, and the factors that enable Japanese businesses to compete successfully in international markets.

On June 25, Mr. Masayuki Chatani, former CTO of Sony PlayStation, former Partner at McKinsey & Company, and former CEO of KPMG Digital, presented on Sony PlayStation’s global strategy. Through real-world examples from his leadership career, Mr. Chatani explained how technological innovation and business strategy work together to drive global success. He also discussed decision-making in multicultural environments, digital transformation, and leadership in the rapidly evolving global technology industry.

Both lectures featured engaging discussions and interactive Q&A sessions, allowing students to exchange ideas directly with the speakers and gain firsthand perspectives from globally accomplished executives. By bringing experienced business leaders into the classroom, the Global Business course continues to bridge academic learning with real-world business practice, preparing students to become future leaders in the global marketplace.
